Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence Guideline in Spanish

November 17, 2010 - The Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence Guideline had been released in Spanish, making this release the first of its kind. This is the first time that the entire publication has been translated into Spanish, whereas in the past only summaries of the guideline have been translated. Sociedad Española de Neumología y Cirugía Torácica provided guidance and leadership for the U.S.  Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guidelines Panel throughout the project.

In 2008, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality release an update to Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, a Public Health Service-sponsored Clinical Practice Guideline, which included new effective clinical treatments for tobacco dependence. The guideline urges every clinician, health plan, and health care institution to make treating tobacco dependence a top priority.
