Pharmacists Expanding Access to Cessation Resources

April 15, 2011 - Pharmacists should play a significant role in tobacco cessation efforts across the nation. The American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists is fulfilling this role by creating a resource center intended to provide pharmacists with information, tools, and resources to assist in tobacco cessation among their clients. The ASHP is a member of the National Pharmacy Partnership for Tobacco Cessation, which is a comprehensive national effort to keep pharmacists informed so they can empower patients to stop smoking. The Resource Center includes information on policies, best practices, publications, and current news updates that will help pharmacists be more aware of tobacco control updates.
