GE Finds Creative Use for Smoke Huts

December 22, 2011   GE Appliances & Lighting   ’s Appliance Park campus has gone smoke-free, and the company found a creative way to use some of the glass huts previously used by smokers at the campus. GE Appliances, a Louisville-based division of General Electric   , donated them to a Louisville nonprofit to use as greenhouses. According to a news release, when Appliance Park officially became smoke-free in November, GE officials contacted Mary Sullivan, manager of corporate volunteers and special projects for Metro United Way   to find out if any Louisville agencies could benefit from the 12-foot by 12-foot structures.
