Evoking Fear will Help Smokers Quit

November 23, 2010 - A new study suggest that the new graphic warning labels on cigarette packaging will help smokers quit. Even though the study only measured “intention to quit” and not who actually quit the study illustrates the motivational factors in getting people to quit smoking. The U.S. will become one of several countries that use graphic visual images to warn people about the dangers of smoking. The graphic warning labels are part of the new FDA regulation authority granted in the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009.
